Keep Your Dog’s Coat HealthyMay 25, 2015 in Home Promoted, Tips & Tricks,
Good hygiene is one of the keys to a healthy coat for your dog. By following some simple grooming tips, you can make sure your dog doesn’t suffer from an itchy dry skin and a dull coat:
- Give your dog a weekly bath using a shampoo made for pets. Don’t use one made for humans. Try OUT! Easy Spray shampoos, which are specially-designed so you can hold your pet with one hand and quickly spray the shampoo over their whole body using your other hand. Follow their bath with a towel dry, blow dry if needed and brush out.
- Use a shampoo that’s specially formulated for your pet’s skin or coat issues. For instance, if your dog has dry skin, chose an oatmeal shampoo that will moisturize their skin and coat. If your puppy sheds a lot, select a shampoo with extra vitamins.
- Brush your dog daily during heavy shedding times. Use a slicker brush, which is a rubber-based brush with closely-spaced metal tines, to remove any excessive undercoat. Fine-toothed combs also work very well.
- Keep your dog clean and smelling fresh between baths. If you want to avoid that doggie smell (you know the one we mean) between their baths, use OUT! Body Mists. They eliminate all doggie odors and will leave your pooch smelling fresh and clean.
